About

For me, travel is a cure-all. When I’m out on the road, exploring and adventuring, I feel free, alive and happy in a way that I can never quite replicate at home. I’m a big believer in the power of travel to teach you about yourself, the world around you, and what you want in life. At Brunette Jetset, I blog about my journeys and adventures and how they’ve taken me from a painfully shy picky eater with a fear of everything around me to a confident, brave and adventurous young woman. I want to inspire you to make travel a part of your life, and see what it can do for you.

Sunrise at the Taj Mahal, summer 2019

I grew up travelling to places like England and the Caribbean, as well as all across Canada (my home country) and down to the US. I also lived in Australia for a year when I was little, which I think may have been the spark for my travel addiction. When I was 18, I discovered travel blogs while bored at a desk job. I had literally never considered solo travel as a thing before; what do you mean I could just hop on a plane by myself?! My parents were understandably not too pleased by this new obsession. Nevertheless, I booked a trip to China for two weeks, all by myself. Apparently I wanted to throw myself into the deep end.

Living my best life in Morocco, summer 2015

The trip went incredibly well and I haven’t stopped since. I still had to go back and finish my business degree, but in the last two years of my degree I visited almost 20 countries. I slept in the Sahara desert, au paired in Italy, partied in Spain, stand-up paddleboarded in Antigua & Barbuda and so much more. When I graduated I took off on a whirlwind trip to three continents and then moved to Toronto, Canada for a corporate job.  I didn’t last very long there, and now I work for Flight Centre so I can talk about travel all day. I just returned from my last long trip, 4.5 months flying literally around the world, and I have so many more adventures that I can’t wait to go on.

Fulfilling childhood dreams at the Great Pyramids

I’ve been to 57 countries so far and I can’t believe how much I still have left to see. I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon, and every single day I come up with another idea for my future and where I want to be. Follow along on Brunette Jetset to find out what I learn in my adventures around the world, and along the way I’ll share how you can make your big travel dreams into a reality.
